Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Leaks Reveal Impressive Camera Features and Potential AI Subscriptions
The Galaxy S24 Ultra, the flagship device in the series, will now start at $1,299, marking a $100 rise from its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

In a surprising move, Samsung has unveiled its latest Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup, featuring a notable price increase for the Ultra model. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, the flagship device in the series, will now start at $1,299, marking a $100 rise from its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra. This places the S24 Ultra at a $100 premium over the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which also experienced a price hike in the previous fall.

Despite the increase in the Ultra model’s cost, there is a silver lining for potential buyers. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus maintain the same starting prices as their predecessors, coming in at $799 and $999, respectively.

The pricing information aligns with leaks that circulated just before the official Galaxy Unpacked event. Roland Quandt’s post on X revealed details about the Galaxy S24 series, including the anticipated price increase for the Ultra variant.

To justify the higher price point, Samsung is enhancing the value proposition for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The company has extended software support for its phones from four to seven years, an upgrade from the previous Galaxy lineup. Additionally, the base model of the S24 Ultra offers 256GB of storage. As part of a pre-order promotion, users have the option to upgrade to the next storage tier — 512GB for the Ultra — at the cost of the lower tier.

Further details on pricing, including international costs and storage tier variations, are expected to be revealed as the Galaxy Unpacked event progresses. The move to elevate the Ultra model’s price reflects Samsung’s strategy to provide added value through extended software support and increased storage capacity, aiming to attract consumers seeking top-tier features in their smartphones.
